So approx once a week my truck will not spark, all I have to do is remove the + coil wire then reattach (just pushing it up doesn't work). I understand it is a connection problem, my question is I can/should repair it or just replace it?

I'd pull the cap off or whatever hides the wires inside. Take a look and see if it's a broken terminal or something. If not, put some dielectric grease on it maybe. Dunno

If it is a coil in cap HEI like my 79, it will have the cap, coil, rotor, centrifugal advance, vacuum can, ignition module, and pickup. Check the wire and plug that is on it. They use a locking plug but mine broke at one point. The connector would vibrate off the terminal. Also check the little wires from the terminals to the coil. This is easy to do on this style dizzy.

After that, if it still happens, it could be a problem in the coil, ignition module, or pickup. I don't know how to test all of them. How much money do you want to spend and what kind of shape is your dizzy in? Stock parts cost $10-$20 on up. A stock dizzy might cost you a hundred bucks. An MSD pro billet HEI like I run is closer to $350. Do you have time to replace one part at a time or to test them?

Good advice, i have this same issue i suspect... i gotta take the cap off and re attach the plug after sitting the coils wires again.
