I would like to run a compression test on the cylinders. I'm going to turn the engine over but don't want to start the engine.

In the pic below I highlighter a wire. Do I have the correct wire to remove so that the engine does not start?

Assuming you're going to do the compression test correctly the engine won't start with all the plugs out. :deal:

I'm going to take all the plugs out. I read however that there is a chance I could fry the system if I don't disable the HEI.

Ya but disabling the ignition will prevent any unwanted ignition of fuel and catastrophic consequences.Like dying or worse having your penis burned off.
