Hey Guys. I've got a 69 Blazer and I'm in the middle of making a roll bar for it.
I currently roll with a softopper but I've been on the lookout for a hard top.
I want this roll bar to fit under a hardtop.

Can someone give me a height from truck bed floor to top of the roll bar or
from floor bed to ceiling height of the hardtop of a 1st gen?

I've got this one cut at 43 to fit the soft top but it seemed tall when I popped
it in the truck.

I got the Jeggers roll bar kit from Jegs. I don't recommend it. It was way too narrow.
Had to cut the top bar out and find a 1.75 inch tube, luckily I had one, .25 wall thickness
though. It had to be cut anyway because the verticals were not parallel. Now it's good to go. :waytogo:

I'll go out here in a bit to get ya some measurements. Need to finish making tacos first. :D

I took measurements on the beat up top on the gray 69 and got 43 1/4, but I think that top sags a little.

Measured the cage on the other 69 in the garage and it looks like I built my B at 43. I do remember that being pretty tight tho if I wanted to wrap it with padding.

42 1/2 or so from top of bed ribs should get ya pretty close.

Sweet looking truck !!
I hope you are using DOM tube and not ERW. 1.75 X .0125 might be barely large enough for your vehicle weight. Maybe a double bar if using thay tube size. Race car build specs require large diameter for your vehicle weight. How it connects to a large plate at the floor is key. Lots of triangles are important too.

Best of luck.

Wow. Missed these. Great info. Thanks.
Renntag, I think this bar is trash. There's no way it could support the truck on its own. Maybe if it was delicately placed but I don't see that happening. Doubled up it could be cool.
