I also ran heims for a while on my truck. I honostly did not feel much diffence going from TRE to heims my TREs were newer so in real good shape. Like has been said the TRE that was stripped probably had one or a series of problems that led to its demise. I still vote for TRE cause for one if you do break one and don't have a spare then alot of auto parts store are going to be able to help you. Its also one less thing to have to do on your truck. With my heims I took them off and cleaned them after every trip that had alot of mud on it. My TREs I just hit with the grease gun.
