i like the beam pattern of the hella 500 driving lights, but dont feel like throwin 70 bucks a pair down for them. i have some long range kc style lights on it now, but the beam pattern is too narrow. does anyone know if anyone makes or sells a similar style to the hella 500's for a lil less coin?

I have the procomp 6x9" 100w on mine and they throw a pattern that is comparable to my buddies hella 500s. Of course they were 30 bucks a light last time I looked.

already have a set of those, but they're just not quite long range enough.... great for slow wheeling though.

So you are looking for Spots? Then look for something with a smooth mirror like reflector and clear lens (glass). Your price requirements will keep you to incandesents and so wattage will be your other major factor.

Generally the more crap on the reflector and lens the wider, or more diffused, the beam will be. Sometimes you can find a projection ratio in degrees as to width and heigth. The smaller the degree number the narrower the beam.
