Hello all. I am Joe and I live in the mountains of Virginia. I recently picked up a 1990 V2500 Suburban with the 6.2L Diesel..... all original; only 85,500 original miles. Body is in OK shape (little cancer on the rear driver's side quarter) and the paint is faded. I mainly picked this vehicle up as a truck to use in the woods for when I go hunting, however am having issues with rear power window. It will go down; but has trouble coming up.... I know it is the motor, because it went down verrrrryyyyyyy slowly, then did not want to go back up at all. I took the back panel off so that I could see the motor and stuck a "slim jim" down in there; tapped it a few times and the window then came up... of course I had to have a little assistance as the window was not lifting on it's own ( I more or less had to kind of pull up on it guiding it and taking some of the weight of the window off the motor. Any ways; now I am looking for a replacement motor for this. Whenever I do a search online, I see everything as far as door window motors and such. What am I missing, does anyone here possibly have a part # for this motor that I may find it easier to search for a replacement for this. I would really like to get this window operating properly, because as I stated earlier, I am looking to use this vehicle as a woods truck for hunting, and will need to open the tailgate to throw any "kills" in the back. Any assistance with this would be greatly appreciated.

Everyone always blames the motor. I'm not familiar with burbs, but in the Blazer rear window the ground is the motor casing itself, the two wires going to it are both +12V (applying power to either wire makes it change direction). The ground for the motor casing has only one path back to the battery and that's through the hinges. Now since you say your burb has some rust in the rear - it may be that there is rust/corrosion under the hinges making a poor path for electricity. A dedicated ground wire from the motor casing to the frame is the fix. I'd check the function of the motor first by directly applying power to the motor to see how it works. It may also be that the weatherstripping is worn out/dirty or the innards of the window mechanism need cleaning/greasing. Diagnose first before you toss parts at it.

Welcome. Where in VA are you at? I have a house in Roseland.
