HELP!! 84 CUCV w/ no normal lights issue

I am wondering if the normal lights are tied into the alternator system in the CUCV. I know my black out lights come on when the switch is in the correct position but no normal lights at all when they are suposed to be on. checked all fuses, engine to cab ground strap... i am thinkin the switch is faulty in not letting current run to the normal lights when it is supposed to. I am not against removing black out lights from operation. I just would like to get lights working so i can get this beast on the road legally
