How do you tell which side of the engine is "bank one" and which is "bank two?" I am specifically talking about a 2006 E450 van with a 6.? L gas engine.

Bank 1 is whichever bank cyl. #1 is on. Our (Nissan) V6 engines have B1 on the right side and our V8 engines have it on the left. MOST Fords have bank 1 on the right (passenger) side.

if you look down at the cylinders from the top, which ever head is more forward is b1.

On Fords, most have bank 1 on passenger side. The cylinders are also numbered 1,2,3,4 on passenger and 5,6,7,8 on drivers side.
