I just got my blazer. It's an 1980 K5. I am having troubles with the drivetrain. It seems the transmission isn't working because when press the gas it makes a winding noise. I dropped the pan and there was barely anything in there. I called my local off road shop and they wouldn't tell me what is wrong, just how much it would cost to fix. I finally got it out of the guy that there is a bad coupler in the 80 model blazer. Is this true? Where is it located? and how hard is it to fix? If anyone could help me that would be great. Thanks

Sounds like you are low on trans fluid. Was your trans fluid burned? Put in fresh fluid and new filter see if this helps.
