colby called me from the road, he is on his way home and thinks he has a bad a tank of diesel and was wondering the signs of a bad tank??

and if he should just use the tank up or a add more fuel to it.

the motor is new and has about 10k on it.

motor is running ruff in real cold weather and has alot of unburned exuast and only acting weird under load.

FWP had this happen to him what is the temp the motor is running at? Soundls like it might be running too cold? If this is the case have him put something in front of the radiator.

if it is cold outside the fuel will gel up in the filter on the pass side firewall

X2

Isn't there an additive you could get at a truck stop to help with this? I don't know personally because I live in South Carolina. Doesn't get below 30 here much.

two things, he did the carbboard trick prier to calling me and thought it helped cause the problem, ie lack of air

he also added a additive

and last time i talked to him all was well

so,,

:D

Add more additive & start topping off the tank as often as possible to dilute the bad fuel. You will likely need to change the fuel filter once or twice too. I got a bad tank in California awhile back. It clogged a fuel filter pretty quick.
