I have had my Blazer disassembled for awhile painting the undercarriage and restoring the fuel tank.. I forgot where one of the hoses I had removed goes. There are 2 preformed rubber hoses. They are both about 6-8 inches with preformed bends in them. They both go somewhere on the engine. One I know goes on the bottom of the mechanical fuel pump to the hard line that goes to the fuel tank but I can't remember where the other one goes. Anyone know???

Thought I answered this question earlier..maybe I forgot to hit "send" ?..

Anyhow,a GM diesel pickup with a 6.2 had a different fuel tank sending unit with 3 hose nipples instead of the usual 2 used on gas engines..the third hose was for a water in fuel drain feature that went to a drain valve on the frame, usually located in the area of the rear leaf spring's front hanger ,closest to the fuel tank...

This is likely the hose your confused about--it goes to a steel fuel line, then to the valve..

This lets you drain out any water ,by using a length of hose and a slight suction on it to get the siphon action started (A turkey baster works well for that--your mouth, not so much, unless you love the taste of diesel fuel)..

The sending unit also has a water in fuel sensor on diesels, that operates the idiot light on the dash...the other two hoses are the fuel feed to the engine, and a fuel return line coming from the injector pump..

You did answer this but I was confused. I'm sure this hose goes somewhere on the engine itself not on the fuel tank. You were talking about the fuel tank sending unit right?

I figured it out! I found an old pic of my engine and see the hose. It went to the spin on canister water separator. I didn't think that hose was preformed but I can see that it is in the pic.
