I'm putting a call out to the Brotherhood to help me in my search. I need a truck to replace my current '07 Tacoma. Yes, I'm taking a step backwards, but it's what I want.

Few of the things I'm looking for it to have:

Pickup truck, but won't overlook a K5.
Fuel injection preferred, but not required
Manual trans
Stepside preferred, but will take any configuration
Close to stock or properly done aftermarket stuff
Solid chassis/body but possibly needing paint/minimal rust

Vague, yes, but I'm seriously in the market and exactly what I'm looking for is seemingly hard to find: 87 GMC w/stepside and manual trans.

Can you help? Distance is a concern, but I will travel for the right truck!

Thanks in advance!

First and foremost... what are your purposes for the vehicle??

In my opinion, and after having one for a few years, and dad several for many years... A blazer is good for a fun cruising rig, or a wheeler. They are no good for anything else IMO. For the amount of people you can haul verses the gas mileage, you might as well get a trailblazer or something if you have a family, as its a pain to get in and out of for people in the back... and you cannot haul anything really..

A pickup is good for cruising etc but you can haul stuff with one....

Just my thoughts. I love blazers, but they are not something I would buy if I wanted to do any work or haul things. That is why mine is my summer driver and wheeling rig.

Good points. I plan to use the truck as a daily driver replacement for my crew cab Tacoma. That's why I'm leaning more towards a truck versus a K5. I used to own a K5, but it did have downsides such as always having to use a trailer for anything larger or filthy.

I think you would be better off with a truck to be honest.

k5s are a sweet rig. When they are used as a weird type of gas guzzling wheeler or weekend cruiser...
