Help finding 2wd to 4wd swap/conversion threads

I'm having a hell of a time finding any threads documenting a 2wd to 4wd swap/conversion. Maybe I'm putting the wrong terms in search bar. Anyone happen to have any links bookmarked they can share? Thanks
 
Thanks for the link. Something I am specifically looking for is changing the transmission tunnel floor pan. The truck I recently bought is a 2wd on a 4wd frame, but the PO never went as far as to change that part.
 
I have a 2wd C20 diesel auto cab on k10 frame. What do you want to know?
 
Depends what hump you have, the tall hump it will accept the tcase fine.

I swapped mine from a 2wd to 4wd.
 
The truck the body came off of was a 1978 and had a 454 and TH400. It has the small hump. The frame is from a 1984 and has a TH400 and NP208. I'd like to know how much to cut out and replace to give me a clean floor board and look stock-ish.
 
It may fit without any mods at all,or if not,maybe a 1 or 2" body lift would be enough to let the t-case fit without hitting the floor..

I had a '77 GMC K2500 with an '85 2WD cab & doors,the previous owner put a 3" home brewed body lift on it (aluminum blocks),and that solved the clearance issues with the transfer case it had in it at the time (a NP-203)--but when I swapped a NP-205 in it,I had to cut away a 2" section of the floor just behind the hump and make a sheet metal extension to seal up the area near the seat so it wouldn't hit the floor..
 
if it fits, why change it?

I don't feel like there's enough clearance between the transmission/transfercase and the body. That might just be me, though.

I also figure GM must have designed the 4wd trucks with the different hump there for a reason, right?

I'd prefer to not use a body lift as when I'm done I want the truck to look relatively stock. I'm not going to be doing any hard wheeling that'll require big tires and/or clearances. This'll be a camping/trailering rig, that's the plan for now.

If you want more clearance I did cut the hump off an 81 k5.
It's a removeable hump and it can be grafted on to any cab.
