The blaze is still down. Does anyone know where I can find a clutch pedal assembly unit. I have a 1989 manual k5. Im told that the rod from the master cylinder is warn almost in two  the guy fixing it cant get the angle he needs to weld and grind it down without pulling it all out.
And will a 1979 suburbans cpa work in my 1989???
Thanks for any help.

isnt your '89 a manual clutch? if so, what master cylinder?

the '79 is a manual clutch, the CPA will work as long as yours is a manual.

The 79 cpa will not work for the 89, the 79 is mech linkage while the 89 is hydraulic.

If you're looking for the rod from the pedal to the clutch m/c it will come on a reman m/c (or a core m/c, if you can find one).

Yep my mistake it is the rod at the top of the pedal that the M/C rod connects to. I cant seem to find the pedal assembly anywhere. He says he will have to pull the pedal assembly out in order to get to the warn spot to weld a bead on it. I could use any other ideas that wont take so much labor$$$$
Again thanks for any help.

If it's the rod between the pedal and m/c there's no need to pull the pedal assembly since it's not a part of it. The rod is hooks to the pedal but it's clipped into the back of the m/c and will not come out with the pedal assembly. Replacing the master cylinder would fix the problem (at the expense of wasting a good m/c and trouble to bleed the system).

The m/c is new because it was leaking.thats when he found the groove on the peg? its about a half inch long and its on top of the cpa its what the m/c rod connects to.When you press the clutch down that piece is what moves m/c rod in and out.
Hope this makes sense
thanks

got ya now.

its not hard to pull the pedel assemble.

and fix it right and be done.

i have swaped a few and it can be done with simple hand tools. done them in about 1/2 hr and back in around the same.

oooooooooooohh... I thought it was the m/c rod, I didn't realize it was the pedal peg. That's make more sense as to why the shop wants to pull it all out. Any 2wd/4wd pedal from '85-'87('91) will work in your truck.
