first off i tried searching for this and google 'n it.

i have a 90 blazer 4x4 , 35"'s with 6 inch lift. sound is definitely coming from right front wheel . it sounds like when you were a kid and put playing cards on your bike frame so they would make noise as your spokes would drag across the card . there are no rocks or objects stuck in tread, no tire rubbing. and nothing on the wheel rubbing on brake or hub. the hub does not get hot and it makes the noise wheen wheels are turning whether your in drive or neutral in 4 wheel or 2 wheel.

anyone have any ideas i know its hard with out being able to see/hear in person. thanks

oh and a little history , there is not much tho. i have only owned it for about a month. bought it and drove it in 2 wheel drive (did not even put it in 4 wheel on test drive before purchase) . after about 2 weeks i finally took it out/off road on some small hills in 4 high . as soon as i hit normal paved roads i noticed the noise and started looking for the problem and have not found it. its been making the noise for about 2 and a half weeks now :dunno:

Shot in the dark because I've never personally had them, but it could be your (likely) automatic front hubs that have gone bad. I've had manual locking hubs that were worn out that would ratchet like that.

X3. Sounds like hub locks not disengaging. Pull them apart and see what if anything is broken. For 50-100 bucks you can put manual locks in it. Depends on where you look to get best deal.

sweet, i will look into that. sucks cuz im stuck in a trailer park till January (lease ends then) so i cant really tear into anything or the land lord freaks out. thanks for the info guys

yes im sure you guys were right. i took the truck into a dirt parking lot and put it in 4 high and 4 low . gave it some gas pedal in reverse ! and as soon as i put her back in 2 wheel the noise stopped . so yeah i guess before she goes into 4 wheel again ill tear into the front hubs and see what needs replaced. thanks agian
