Help!!! Going wheelin this weekend. No spark.

Like it says. No spark to my plug/wires. Cap and rotor look good great.

Also possibly related, my laptop is not reading my ecu.

Just drove the truck last week. No issues. Left hood open one night and it rained.
 
Does this use a GM module/distributor? I would assume yes since they seem to be pretty common for any sort of EFI conversion, and if so, check the ignition fuse(s), power to the ignition components, etc. The module handles spark under 400RPM (cranking) in the standard GM EFI setups with distributor, if the Powerjection uses the same components, it's probably the same way. Which may help you rule out things like the ECU, etc.

You can google "gm hei testing" or something along those lines if you have the GM ignition setup,pretty easy to test everything. Coil, module, and pickup coil are the big three in terms of parts that fail, but need to make sure power is getting to where it needs to go first.

I know nothing about powerjection, "no spark" should be a pretty easy diagnostic measure to have in whatever documentation they provide if it differs from the GM process. If it's a standard "no spark" condition for a GM setup, the 1987-1991 R/V manuals in the link in my sig will give you the diagnostic charts for no spark.
 
That's basically what john (80_427) text me and told me. We narrowed it down to the module. No pulse from the test light while probed into the tach terminal during cranking. Also getting 1.5ish ohms with meter on tach and bat terminals on the dist. Grabbing a new module on my lunch tomorrow. Then throwing it in right after work.

Ignition modules are fairly simple to change out. Is a bit of a pain to reach the connectors around the back of the distributor. Also, do NOT forget to add the heatsink compound/grease/goop between module and distributor housing. Should come with a new module. Modules get hot, they need that goop to conduct heat away. They won't last 10 mins without it. Ask me how I know. :O
 
^^^I almost always make sure to apply lube.

Another thing that is bothering me about this is I am getting no communication from my ECU to my laptop. I've never had that issue before. Even with something wrong, I still had communication. Could I have knocked off a ground earlier this week while messing with the back of the intake? Like I told Jon, there is a rats nest of wiring that needs cleaned up, and a lot of the wires are back behind the dist. making very hard to access anything.
