I have removed all visible (16) tamper proof torx screws but the rear corners won't lift off!
Is there some hidden hardware I'm missing? Not sure it matters but, This is the first time this top has ever been removed.

There are two hidden bolts that go up through the bedrail into the topper. You have to pull back the side panels partway to get to them. Did you pull them yet?

well there under the bed rail they come into the topper from underneath the should be regular 9/16 head bolts if the rest of the topper is loose except for the corners the bolts are still in

whew ..... good luck i hope you get the bolts loose .... i love my 75 i can get mine off in bout 10 min but extra muscle is a must on the full vert

Well I didn't have time to look for the underside bolts, had to pick up the kids. I was hoping not to take the interior apart to get the top off. oh well gonna have to try this weekend, Thanks for the reply's.

Look at the bright side, it is very probable that the top has never been removed. Those two bolts usually don't go back in after the first time the top is removed, at least the ones I have seen never had them if the top had ever been removed.

It never has been removed. It was a one owner DD. 137k miles. Immaculate inside, everything original. Including the crappy shocks I just replaced.:haha:

It's been years since I originally did mine, but it should just be a matter of taking out a couple of screws on the back corners on the interior panels you can pull them back just enough to get a ratchet on the bolts.

Any hardware store has them. Of course now that I'm trying to get the top off the afternoon thunder storms show up. I think I'm gonna pull the carpet out.

T41 is what you need IIRC the "1" designates tamper proof ( the center hole)

yep harbor freight has em n a set as well...as far as the rear bolts, i never put em back in once i removed the top...also replaced the stock torx bolts with sum regular head bolts of the same size...alot easier to work w/that way...

Well I was going to say just get the big ole steam shovel and take it off.. :doah:

SOooooo carpet in it you say. Taking anything else out of it for good?

HIJACK on: Loved the little town when I was there last year.
