My ten minute project -changing a tstat-went south, I twisted a bolt off, then twisted an eaz-out off. Do I need to replace the throttle body manifold? Any advice would be appreciated. It's a 90 model stock 5.7 tbi

Plan A: Just get a small drill bit and drill out the center of the bolt (or whats left of it) and then get a cold chisel and try to collapse the sides inward.

Plan B: Drill out the bolt completely and rethread it. If you get the right size bit, just a tad smaller than the bolt your taking out, you might be able to save the threads.

Plan C: Spray PR Blaster around the bolt, drill a small hole into what is left of the bolt and then pound something inside the hole and try to unscrew the bolt that way. Similar idea to an ease-out just more violent. lol.

Plan D: Take it machine shop or autoshop to get it out and pay out the azz.

Plan E: New Intake manifold (just be sure to upgrade to a performance one) , if this is the case, spray all your bolts with PR Blaster and let it sit over nite.

He said he twisted the EZ-Out off in there... if it's still stuck in there the stuff you said above won't work very well assuming it was a decent EZ-Out and it's hard.

Can you get in there and tack a nut or another bolt to it?

Can you weld? If so, weld the inside diameter of a hardend washer to the bolt. next weld the hex-head of a bolt to the washer.

good luck,

welding a nut to it is how we always get bolts out at work. its super easy and only takes a couple minutes...

Thanks for the help and info...I'll have time to work on it this weekend. I'll let y'all know how it turns out
