HELP ID this chevy

Military, obviously. I'm thinking in the 1 1/2 to 2 ton category.

They look ... almost WWIIish, but then they're a bit too square, maybe Korean era. I can't find anything in the usual MV haunts on such a thing, so they could be overseas-made ... could be photochops ... donno.

It's a WWII era Chevy flatnose truck. The British used a lot of them. Sorta "pre-deuce and a half" era.

The guys over on www.SteelSoldiers.com could probably tell you everything about it.

I'm pretty sure those were used by the canadian military, wwII and korean wars

EDIT: just looked at tyrantking's links, I guess I was right

Actually the whole Commonwealth used them.

The British SAS Desert Rats almost used those in their famous North African raids but found that they had too much weight over the front tires so went with the 4x2 Ford trucks of similar size with large balloon tires.

Those are realy cool. Even though it makes me think of JeepersCreepers next movie (has that one broke the single digits yet?). Anyway definatly cool, and I didnt know anything about them. Find and learn about cool chit on here all the time "Alah praize thee CK5" :haha: just kidding.
