ok so i have a dana 44 3/4 ton axle. I am trying to figure out what is came out of and what year it might be.

Here are the number that were stamped on the axle tube.

603676 15 28 6 63E

I am under the impression by the last 2 digits on the 6 digit number that this is from a 76 what ever.

i have a matching 14bff also. have no idea as to where to look for a number on there as there is no tag on it.

I don;t see that BOM listed on the Dana Expert site

The Dana site doesn't go back that far. The last two won't be the year. I'm thinking 76 also, by the 15 28 6 numbers, but the first one doesn't make any sense. Pull the cover and there will be the year on there, say 7 11 76, something along that line. The rear should have the same thing.

Well i found out that this axle was from a 76 1/2 k20 pickup. based on the 603676 number. thanks for all the information.
