I have an 88 v20 and cant get the right ac condenser. Have tried 4 times thru different vendors. All of the ones that i have gotten have tbe wrong style mounts. Attached is a pic of the style i need20221220_093544.jpg

This is the style i get by going off of the year or vin number.IMG_20221220_100704.jpg

the one on top looks like what all my late square body's have... you must be getting handed the "new body style" for the 1988 C/K?

not sure where you are sourcing, but I would usually have them cross reference a 1987 model, and then check to see if the 1987 part number was the same as the 1988 blazer/suburban (suburban without rear air)

let us know if you find the correct one - i may be in the market this year.

I got a parallel flow condenser from original air group/classic auto air last year P/N:11-246P. It had brackets that bolted in at the top of the core support. On the bottom I used "christmas tree" fasteners to secure the brackets in existing holes that were already in the core support. Otherwise, it fit great. It utilizes the same connections as the factory hoses in the same location.

Does the original use some U shaped rubber mounting cups? It looks like it from the polished surface at the header panels.
The replacement is a parallel flow version, which is supposed to cool the freon better with less surface area, so they make them smaller. They probably intend for the pieces of channel sticking up to go into the original pads.

Just my SWAG...

The original does use the u shaped rubber pads. The new one is the same size just has the brackets. I think im just going to cut them off and make it work. The old 1 has a cracked tube that really doesnt want to be brazed shut

Went thru this same thing with my 82. Mine also broke in same spot as yours. I tried EVERYONE!!!! I ended up with a “close” match and modified it. I did have to play with the Freon level before getting it dialed in.
