I found this electrical line/connector sandwiched between the headers where they meet up with the exhaust pipe on the driver's side. I've been having issues with transmission slippage and such, and was just under the truck checking things out. At first, I thought it may be the wire coming from the TCC solenoid, but every picture I found online shows that it has four "connectors" (not really sure what to call them). Any have any ideas?

Nobody?

I've looked through the LMC catalog at least 3 times now, and the closest thing I can find is something from the A/C system. But, it seems that it'd be too far back to be of much use to the A/C.

I guess the easiest question to ask: is the TCC connector on the trans?

It would seem that would NOT be the TCC connector based on two pins and two wires(?), but I suppose it's possible the connector is broken in half and the other wire(s) are lost somewhere else, but that's a bit of a stretch.

TCC plugs in on the drivers side, I believe it faces straight up, so should be real easy to check. And AFAIK, every one was a four terminal connector. Square plug.

Isn't the TCC only 2 wires but a 4 terminal connector?

'87-91 was three wires, earlier not sure.

That's a Weatherpack connector (both the one shown and what is used for TCC), never seen a block heater use them. TPS, EST, EVAP, those are the ones I can think of that were using Weatherpack that vintage.

GM was doing all sorts of weird stuff in the early 80's trying to get emissions down, things like spark retard switches and the like were used, and are somewhat unknown, at least to me.

Isn't there a Weatherpack connector that plugs in somewhere on the transfer case? maybe for the 4X4 light?

Not sure. Could be! IIRC it is two wires. What I recall is that it passes through the floor either at the t-case shifter assembly, or right around it.?

Sorry guys, I didn't get a notification for any of these replies.

It is melted down a bit, but it looks like it was 2-pin originally. I tried tracing it back when I first found it, but it goes above the transmission and then disappears (only because I can't see through the transmission). I haven't looked at the TCC connector, but this wire doesn't seem long enough to fit that far back. At most, it could reach maybe the first 1/3 of the transmission.
