Help! Lock Right install!

Hello! I am in the midst of an install of a lock right in the rear end of my 1991 2500 with a 9.5 sf 14 bolt axle. I got the axle shafts in far enough to get the c clips off but I am having trouble getting them out far enough to get the spider gears out. It feels like the ebrake may be on, especially on the passenger side. I have released the brake cable where the front and rear cables meet, just forward of the adjusting bracket.

Please help if you have ideas!

No, BUt I've got it. Just took more umph than I am used to.

Thanks for chiming in. I just have no experience with drum brakes.

No problem. I put one in my 14SF a couple years ago so I was familiar with the process
