Ok so I am going to replace the el-cheapo gauges in my truck with some Autometer ones. Also I am going to add a volt gauge and vacuum gauge. But I can't decide between the Ultra-Lite series and the Phantom series. Help me decide.

Here's how it looks now with the el-cheapo gauges:

Here's the Ulra-Lites so you can compare:

Here's the Phantoms:

i vote phantoms. The ultra lites are made for just that a drag or racing vehicle that needs ultra light guages. I think they are even cheaper quality then a regular guage. There's really nothing to them and there more expensive then the other styles. Ive personally seen 9 ultra lite guages at my buddy's house and hooked em all up for him in his drag cuda with the rockymountain dash and it looks nice, we were both unimpressed with the quality of the guages. They seem fragile if anything.

i vote ultralites....i have the pro comp series in mine and love em'!!!!

Ya I like the pro-comps a little better, but they only come in 2 5/8s and I am looking for 2 1/16 gauges.

I like the Phantom series ones my self, but you might check these out too, a company called Equus guages, carried by Checker Auto Parts here in Cheyenne, Look at the 8000 series, 2" stuff, pretty sweet stuff and low cost. Checkers has the 2" three guage panel AND 3 3/8 tach for $100.00 till the end of the month.
the three guage panel is oil pressure, water temp and volt. I like the 8000 series like I said due to the whole guage lighting up from behind, plus they offer a fuel guage and speedo too if you wanted to change all your guages to them...

i've got a bunch of sport comps waiting to go in, and if I'm not mistaken, you can get the sport comps in 2 5/8 and 2 1/16

Stewart Warner?

What happened to Stewart Warner guages. They were basic in appearance (white or black background, & choice of black or crome trim ring with a hole for a light bulb) But practically indestructable & accurate.

i vote phantoms..they look sweet....

oh yeah.. but a guage is a guage to me...

got a factory 5g tach gauge setup in my truck cost me $25 from a junkyard...
truck aint no faster with sportier gauges.....

I do really like the look of the Iequus 8000 series gauges, but I don't like the range of the temp gauge and I could find a vacuum gauge.

Also the VDO gauges are a little too plain for me, not quite the look I'm going for.

The Stewart Warner gauges are really nice, but are actually more expenssive than the AutoMeters.

ttt

Come on I would like some more opinions on which ones would look better

for sure its your truck. Only opinion that matters is yours.............and what looks better. I mean that coupld be argued forever.

But on that note, I'd say Autometer is not a top quality guage. I'd go with Isspro or Diprocal, over autometer everytime.

but go with whatever helps you sleep at night.

You guys are right...

I think I will go with the Phantoms.

Thanks :waytogo: ;)
