I text the guy a couple days ago for pics. He said he didn't have them on his new phone. I text him again last night asking if he was going to be able to get pics this weekend. No response. I was hoping the forum could help out andd pester him. It sounds lime it would be a good buy for whoever might get it. Lets try to get pics posted.

I found a set of 1975 interior bed side covers....and the guy did the same thing to me...I ask for pictures and he never emailed me back...
Told him I was willing to pay full value for them...three times...he still won't answer my emails...

Craigslist sucks...

I personally don't understand listing things without picture these days. It sure saves a lot of time and aggravation.

Member the good ol days when you picked up the nickel ads, circled your favs, then had to pick up the phone and call and talk to person, get a feel for if they knew what the hell they had or not, write down an address and some crappy directions, drive way out to some bum f*!k place only to find out its ford 1/2 ton crap...

Yeah, those were the good ol' days. I would pick up the money saver on thursday morning at the gut rot breakfast and coffee stop on the way into work. thumb through it hoping to find that chevy in a barn find. never did find a corvette under cover, but I sure did get some good buys. that was before the old guys figured out "dem der smart phones":haha:

Best one was when I ran toyotas. I got a bone stock unmolested 85 SR5 long bed from the original owner for 700. drove it for about 9 months till it aquired a rod knock. traded it online for a decent 87 short bed that ran like a top. drove it for a year and a half till I sold it for 1100:haha:

I like to look for the ads on craigslist that give a phone number and times to call. Those are usually the old guys with something worthwhile. This guy finally text me back stating "a little surface rust, but no big hole". Took to long, I'm over it and on to the next treasure hunt. Headed to look at one on the coast that has a bad fuel tank and a dented door

I do and I'm only 37.. We have a swap or sellit guide here in Maine called Uncle Henry's; growing up my dad called it the bible. I couldnt look at it until he was finnished it's got everything under the sun; great deals. We dont have any wacky gun laws here ether so you can just call and go get it. My brother in law bought Eddie Van Halens MAC 11 last week from some dude who was workin the Monsters of Rock Tour here in Portland back in 87 or something like that, he traded Eddie a Colt 45 for it..Just cool... The deal with CL now is everybody uses it and it's great for us but the one cool thing with Uncle Henry's is the old timers still use it so the real deals are still in there, it's nice to call someone take down directions and anticipate what your going to look at (even if its total junk when you get there). Then when you get there the real wheeling and dealing happens, just plain cool, less mainstream...

The thing that gets me is that in the digital age people think it's ok to doctor up photos of what they are selling...digital cameras already make something look better than it does in real life anyway....if shot the right way you can almost hide a big dent....:doah:

What I also remember about that is it was also how I learned about chevys and all their interchangabiity. I'd show up at some guys place and he'd be some chevy guru and I'd learn a whole bunch a crap in a half hour and go home with my loot and head full of new ideas.

The junk yards where better back then too...

Yeah, thats what I'm sayin it's just fun to go do that, you learn a lot, shoot the chit, make a friend maybe. Then they tell you where they saw some piece of unobtainium that you need like a 91 4l80e attached to a 205... Now I'm just gettin carried away.. That would never happen :screwy:
