Hey guys, I picked up a 14-bolt last Friday for my '90 and am now trying to figure out the details on it. I have no idea what year and would love to know if it has the metric bolt pattern etc. How can I ID this thing?

it wouldn't be metric bolt pattern, just metric studs.

What 14 bolts came with metric studs? My 89 has the same as my 78. It's gotta be way later years, or the 88+ new body style maybe?

If the 14 bolt came from a 73-91 Our body style and 3/4 ton it will bolt right in. If its from a 1 ton you'll just have to move the spring perches and shock mounts. Other than that they are all 8 on 6.5 pattern most commonly with 4.10 gears. Pop the cover and read the numbers on the ring gear.

Here ya go Happy reading on the 14 bolt full floater! :D

Looks like a pre 88 14 Bolt FF from a 3/4 ton..maybe a 2wd, but hard to tell. Pop the cover and check the gears. :D

Cool, thank you.

The guy told me it came out of a early 80's and had a 4.10 gear :doah:

I guess now I have to re-gear it too

Well it may have cam out of a mid 80's but not originally :wink1: Nope the numbers don't lie it's 3.73. Now is the chance to gear it as low as you may ever need.
