I have a set of Beard racing seat mounts for a earlier blazer but I don't remember what year they fit so I can sell them. Notice the hook in the back of the passenger seat bracket. Would they be for a 71-80 or a 80-86??
They are brand new, what do you think?

The hook is not 7x-77, I know that. Those have a round post, much like the post that holds the hood down. (Rather like a ... well, never mind, this isn't the Pigpen :haha: )

I would guess they are 80's then ... the only newer Blazer I have is a CUCV, which seems to have two driver's seats, or at least the passenger one doesn't flip forward, it just slides.

The one on the right is what Beard refers (or used to refer) to as a Jeep mount. It's made so that the latch will release the seat back, allowing it to pivot forward, the way Jeep seats do to allow access to the rear. I know because I've got that same setup installed in my '86. It definitely doesn't fit that year at all, and I'd be surprised if it fit ANY Blazer with that goofy hook. I had to do a lot of modifiying to make it work in mine, and after all that, I can't pivot the thing forward anyway, because I got the high back seats and they hit the headliner when you tip them.

Sorry about the rant... Anyway, the one on the right is a jeep, don't know about the one on the left. Looks a little like the universal slider, but I think I see the same pivot on the front like the Jeep one has...

And dremu is right, my factory seats didn't flip up, they just slid forward. (Passenger side had some setup which automatically released the slider when you pushed the seat back forward)

Hope this helps...

Wow, guess I was wrong with that "won't fit any model" statement.

Just curious, how does that hook mount work in the '85? There's nothing remotely like it in the '86.

there is a whole in the floor with a cross-piece spanning the width of it. the hook simply goes into the hole and hooks on to the cross-piece. Kind of like you see in the back of the old full-size vans, with a removable bench seat.

My 79 has the hook style flip on the passenger side and those looks like a direct boltup for mine.

Thanks guys, that would really suck if they didn't even fit a Blazer.
So, it sounds like they fit a 79 and a 85 but what about the other years??
I want to put them up soon in the for sale forum but I don't want to tell someone they will work and they don't.
Any help would be cool :wink1:

Why not just post the years you are positive it will fit and then post the pictures and state that it "might" fit other year models if equiped with the passenger side hook style mount. Measurements on the mounting locations would also be something I would like to see on the auction ;)
