help me identify this axle

I think it is a Dana 44

if you go to the properties of the red "x", and copy the URL, you can enter it in to the adress bar and see the pics. and yes, its a 44.
 
Looking from the front, just look at the web off the driver, lower side of the housing to see what the number there is. it will tell you idefinately what the axle is. can't see pics.

not always my d44 doesn't have a number on the webing

Thats not true either. some 44's used studs. mainly doge 44's but they are still out there. the easieset way to tell if its a 60 is to look for kingpins.

that doesnt even hold true in all cases. late model ones are BJ.

I was waiting for someone to say that...Of course not but the 60's that we are all intersted in are kingpin so it doesnt make a differance...you see ball joints and its not worth your time or money...However if your looking for a 44 it could have 3 or 4 u bolts...

I was waiting for someone to say that...Of course not but the 60's that we are all intersted in are kingpin so it doesnt make a differance...you see ball joints and its not worth you time...However if your looking for a 44 and you see 3 ublots you know its from a dodge (or non chevy application) So yuo know its not right for you. Also if you just see 3 ubolts and think its a 60, well then your pretty much taken for then huh?

yeah, but i could make the arguement that a 44 is not worth the time or money...
