Help Me (please?)

just got back from ny inspect w/ 90 blazer. FAILED NOX. i checked the egr valve (fine) , plugs,(fine), no mods to motor, recent oil change. what can I do to pass? TIA ,ERIK

Id say the best bet is to head to another place and try to get it inspected, possibly somewheres known to be a little lax in the inspection process. I had my 84 inspected by a guy in my town who is pretty decent to us local yocals. I dont beleive your truck needed to be hooked up to the scanner cause they didnt hook my 1993 s15 jimmy up when i took it. Anyways good luck with the inspection, and you can always come upstate and find someone to do it for ya if worse comes to worse, im right off of the Taconic Parkway.

My experiences after a failed test - 1 time it was an 02 sensor, another it was a plugged cat.

Also make sure the vehicle is at operating temp (or better ).

I cleaned the tbi, egr valve, put in techtron and beat the crap out of it, PASSED with flying colors, thanx for the responses, ERIK
