Hey there fellas! I have been hiding from ck5 since 2006 due to college, and baseball, and just life in general getting in the way. Well, now I sat down and got my priorities straight, so here I am back at it again! My M1009 is at my parents place back in Dallas, and I've been stuck in San Angelo goin to school the past 4 years. Anyways, next week I'm going to trailer it back from there and begin dumping money into her again. I'm wondering if you guys could help me figure out the width of it though so I will know that my trailer will for sure fit it on there.

IIRC the front tires are wider than the rear, correct? The tires on it right now are 31x10.50's, and they are sitting on some 15x10 steel wheels, with 4.5" backspacing on the stock 10 bolt. Does anybody know what the width would be on it?

Just a thought but wouldnt it be easier and more acurate to have somebody who has access to it measure it for you and do that new thing everybody loves to do and text the measurement to you.:eek1:

Well my dad is not at home this week, and while my little brother is extremely book smart, I'm not sure I trust him to measure that for me...and 300 miles is a long way to drive only to find out your bro didnt measure correctly and it won't fit! when it comes to stuff like that, hes completely illiterate. I'm thinking I will need about an 80" wide trailer, does that sound right?

well according to pirate4x4 the width of a gm10 bolt is 69'' so add in the width of your wheels 15x10 4.5 bs wich comes out to 5.5'' out from the axle on both sides giving you a front width of 80'' or close to it

Have your brother take a couple of scrap 2x4s and snug em up the the front tires-one on each side, parallel and have him pull a tape on it. should get you close enough...

If you want an exact measurement I could run by there. I'm just SE of McKinney. However, I'll tell you that when my 1009 was on 35's it would fit between the fender wells of a car hauler which was 83" wide between the fenders. My neighbor has a 1/2 ton on 35's and fits between the fenders too.

I really appreciate the offer, but I got the correct measurements already...the width of the front is 81". I don't know anybody that has a car hauler to use, so I may be trying to rig up a tow bar...anybody ever done this before?
