Help need info quick

Details:
5 axle standard semi combination truck
Drive axle brake hose pops off one side
What is the effect on system braking when panic braking occurs?

Is the air brake system like an cars
Do you lose braking on the entire system until the low air pops?
Do you lose braking only on the tractor until low air pops?

Thanks

Depending on how the system is plumbed, basically, you will have some braking on other axles but it will be very limited due to the massive air loss out of the loose hose. Eventually the spring brakes will come on when air pressures drops before 60lbs.

Not working with combination much, I believe when your tractor spring brakes are applied by low pressure, the trailer spring brakes will also apply.

Thanks

I know axles 2, 5 and 6 will activate at low pressure. I wasn't sure if you would get full trailer and limited tractor or not until that point.

Thanks

Depends on which hose pops off on the brake can, one is service and one is release. Once the system air pressure drops low enough the spring brakes will apply, prior to that there is an anti compounding valve that will modulate pressure to the release side of the can so the spring(not air) becomes the service apply pressure, unless it is the release hose that comes off. If it is the release side of the can that loses the hose the spring brakes apply instantly regardless of system pressure.
