Ok... I go away to Detroit for a trip, the blazer sits for 4 weeks... I get in, fire up drive into town, no brake lights.

I have turn signals, emergency flashers, tail lamps, etc... but no brake lights. I replaced the brake light switch (at the pedal) still no lights. I have checked and there is power at the switch and it appears to be working appropriately but still no brake lights. No juice at the back end of the truck, I cant even tell that there is juice at the firewall... I HATE electrical issues.

Thoughts anyone?

i juswt fixed the lights on the MINI it was a loose wire on the fuse block, dont know it that will help you or not, is it just the tail lights? or are there other light that are out to, the more info you have the eaiser it is to track it down.

Re: help... now my brake lights dont work

I have every other light except stop lamps. I have checked the switch on the pedal and there is juice into and out-of it and it works but no juice at the back of the truck... turn signals, flashers, parking lights all work... which means that the wires are all there and all solid.

Ugh!

Sorry,I didn't read...I guess you have.
You could take a test light and probe each wire at the firewall connection.
That would be one more thing ruled out.

Re: help... now my brake lights dont work

check the fuses, sometimes the clamp that holds the fuses gets corroded. even if the fuse goes in the corrosion wont let it make a good connection. use a nail file to clean them then put the fuse in.

oh yea disconnect the battery when you are cleaning the fuse clips. you may end up without a nail file and you'll see this big bright light where ever you look for a minute or two. /forums/images/graemlins/whistling.gif

mine was really stupid like i knew it would be,i replaced the switch but did'nt have it adjusted all the way up like it should be /forums/images/graemlins/doah.gif. hopefully yours is simple too

Blinker Switch...

Apparently everything having to do with lights on your entire rig goes through your blinker switch... and when yours goes bad, it takes a myriad of other things with it.
