i am trying to do what alot of y'all have done. i am wanted to put autometer style gauges in my 77 k5 but i am alittle lost on what size i need.

do i have to fab anything to make them fit? i know i want to do a 5" speedo and tach but i dont know what the other gauge sizes are.

you could post pics and fabing if any up?

thanks

If you use the 5" tach and speedo, then you are going to be fitting them inside the bezel. If you want to continue mounting them in the bezel, then the other sizes will be 2 5/8 I believe. If you want to mount them inside the actual gauge holder, then they will need to be 2 1/16".

If you don't mind the angle, mounting them to the bezel is the easiest way.

yea thats what i am looking for the easiest but still look good. if i were to do that i would still run the same size

the easiest is with 5" and 2 5/8" gauges, mounted to the bezel. You will need to cut out most of the gauge holder to clear the back of the gauges. When ur working on it, you'll understand. This has to be done no mater what route you take. Do a search and you'll see various threads and pictures on the topic.:waytogo:

I used the 2-1/16 gauges and mounted them in the bezel I ground the bezel till they fit tight in the hole and I angled them toward me.

another option ^^^

I actually used 2 1/16 & 3 3/8 gauges for mine, but did it quite different.
This is only slightly more difficult to do. It doesn't give you the easy flat mounting surface front and back. Probably just as hard to cut out as the way I mentioned though. But, if you do it texas's way, you can point them more towards you.

lol, the super stupid easy way, would to do the DIY4X aluminum dash kit. :) $$$$
Or the Dakota Digital dash overlay and mount everything to that :):)
