10ga for amp power:eek1:! I wouldn't recommend any smaller than 2ga, 1/0 is preferable (big enough to power everything and relatively easy to route around under the carpet). Ditch/sell the capacitor and buy a good deep cycle battery (optima yellow tops are my pick). Run your (fused) power wire direct from the battery to a fused distribution block (redundancy!) and then you can bump down to a smaller gauge wire for the amps. I would still keep this as large as possible...use a crimp down post or ring terminal to avoid stuffing a bunch of wires under the terminals. You shouldn't need an extra battery but I'd test your charging system before the install to make sure your alternator can handle it! Sounds like a nice setup, I think you will enjoy those subs:D.

thanks man i just stopped buy the local audio shp and they ran 2ga cable for it and wired it up sweet for 75 cash.... its an awesome setup.... i noticed the capacitor is still on when i cut the truck off is that normal?

Yeah the cap will stay on for a few after the truck is shut off. It's just residual charge, not draining your battery or anything. $75 for an amp install is a pretty sweet deal considering 2ga cable is around 3 bucks a foot. Good to hear you got it worked out! Did they install both the 2000 watt and the 800 watt amp? I'd still recommend the battery if you have the $$. I have run them in every car I've had a system in and I love 'em. I can run my car with 4 6.5 components, 2 Eclipse 10's and a 600 watt amp for over an hour and still start it right up. They won't crank quite as hard as the red tops but man will they make a system scream :waytogo:.

Thanks for the help man i will be sure to try the battery and yeah they hookem both up so its a sweet system it rattles my blazer to peices

thanks man. i love the sound of them when i at a light and some one pulls up by a blazer on 35"s and i thumpin

Please tell me that all that is bolted together and bolted down!!!!!!

the 6x9s are velcroed to the box and the 15 are so heavy i thought i would let them try to ride. but it is seeming that they do move around... just alittle. it might be bolted soon unless i can come up with somethin creative to keep from drillin the body

If you have an accident, those 6x9s will kill you. Even at 30 mph that big box will probable hit you too.

it's true man. I loaded up a set of rims in the back of my old Blazer and instead of unloading them i drove with them for a week before i rolled it. When i rolled i got a 15x10 right to the back of the head. Amp went flying out the window 100 ft. and sub box ..well just flipped around. From then on i never run anything not bolted down.

Just a not so fun story i thought i might share

I had a simple band pass box with no plexi, and a pair of tens in the rear of my Tempo years ago. I had a lady turn in front of me at 40 MPH, and when I hit her, it ripped all the welds from the rear seat back, and bent the seat forward about 6". Granted it was a Furd, but it was only a month after I bought it new. Always bolt everything down, even a little thing can be very dangerous in a crash.
