To start off with the AC vents. I replaced all of mine several years ago and YES you must remove the whole dash pad in order to change them and the trim piece doesn't need to come off IIRC.

I just had my door panel off yesterday and you should have removed 4 screws along the bottom of the panel, 1 screw on the rearward end of the panel just below the door arm rest, 2 screws on the arm rest, 2 screws on the door release insert piece, and then unscrew the pull knob and remove the panel.

EDIT: The arm rest will not come off because there is a screw on the backside of the panel holding it on.

Get out your dremel tool and start removing the head of the screws.

His profile says 91 GMC Jimmy.

I didn't figure I needed to look at his profile, since he is the one that wanted help. I kinda thought he could give us that info.

Yeah had the same problem. take one of the good screws you have and get a drill bit that is just as wide or a lil less than the screw. drill out the head the top should just pop out. that way you wont ream out the hole and can just go to the hardware store and get replacements.

thanks for the info!
