Help ! Popping from front end

Just sounds like the springs are moving under stress. Like I said you might try and get those Teflon strips in between leaves if it’s just the individual leaves building up pressure and then releasing as the leaves move. Is it different under articulation?

Anyone else read the title as "Truck is pooping from front end" besides me ?....

Im leaning towards leaf springs, truck drives fine, no pulling or anything odd, jus popping when there pressure on one side or another

It sounds like you have been over everything. I have taped my phone under my truck before. Tape it tight so it doesn't vibrate. Press record and ride. You can even play back the video in slow motion. That's what i did

Pulled top plate of leaf springs, no cracks, centering bolt was tight and shiny, so this isnt it. Not saying leafs arent issue some how, but not cracked leaks

Have girlfriend check the oil till you forget what the problem was?

I joke a little but you're pretty much out of other options. Video of some sort might be the best thing to work on next. Video of the front suspension. Of the truck.

Drove truck today, hit a slow speed bump and got decent thump on drivers side, is it possible a shock issue, truck doesnt drive oddly, jus thumping noise.

Running bilstein 5150s

Take a look at the rivet holding the shake brackets. I have a front bracket on the drivers side front that I can spin with my fingers yet it doesn't look lose until I touch it.
Mine pops when I turn into an elevated driveway.

The alignment tech told me because it isn't tight, my drivers side front springs move about an inch back and forth overall. My guess is, my one lose rivet isn't the only one out of the two that is lose if it's moving that much.
But that is a starting point for ya and chances are, if you find one side, it's likely on the other also.

Remedy would involve precise grade 8 bolts. You might have to hog the original rivit holes out. Maybe even some welding.

Hope this helps.

This may not be your problem, but my truck makes a popping noise sometimes while steering that is the tie rod rotating back and forth because the steering damper shock bracket causes it rotate, thus smacking the tie rod ball housing.

Huh. Fortuitous that this was brought back up.

Noticed this last time I had the truck out if I was at or near full lock, I'd get a popping type sound from the front end. Don't believe it was specific to 4WD.

I'd also noticed in the past that my front wheels sure seem to be able to turn at a VERY sharp angle, but I haven't seen any specs for what max supposedly is. I can't imagine its for some reason out of the norm, but compared to the IFS trucks, it seems to be able to turn a heck of a lot sharper, even ignoring the benefits of the short wheelbase. Had a lingering thought that was somehow part of the problem, since full lock seems to be the point it makes the noise.

Going to keep my eye on this thread.
