Ok i have 1977 blazer 350 4x4,ok heres the deal this truck when i bought always had a drain on it,well i took my test light and with key off acc, hazard, tail lamp fuse light, now i took my test light and went through every damn wire and found out a thick red one and another wire where lit, they go from on top of the steering column to the fuse box outside on the firewall to a nut on the firewall then go to the starter and to the alternator im getting constant power to these and my windshield wipers wont work when i turn the switch on and check the wires coming out of the wiper moter i get very dim light from them i hope someone can help me this thanks.

At least one wire on the ignition switch will have power. That wire is routed to the fuse panel, and provides the "hot in run" power.

Tail lights and hazards all need power when the key is off, as does the horn, radio memory wire, dome lights, headlights, etc.

Best thing to test for a drain on the system is disconnect the neg cable from the battery and use a DMM (digital multi meter).
Put one side of the DMM on the batt post and the other side on the cable.
Make sure the meter is set to amps.
Now start pulling fuses one at a time until the amps drop to the lowest number possible.
When the number drops that cicuit is your problem and then you can go from there.
Someone correct me if I am wrong, but that is what I do to test for drains on audio systems at work.

Oh yea make sure your DMM can handle the amperage or it will fry it, or blow the fuse in the DMM.
