HELP!! Purchasing a diesel!!

Wanted to get some tips on questions to ask when purchasing a diesel. I don't know much about cars but don't want to look too dumb when I go look at this 85 6.2L diesel. I would appreciate any tips on what to look for or ask when I go check it out.

Just listen for a really loud knocking the 6.2 is gonna be a loud motor anyway but you will be able to tell if it sounds likes something is going to hell. Look underneath it for oil leaks out of all the 6.2s ive been around in my life 3/4s of them have a rear main seal that is shot to hell.

Yes, they are typically beat to crap by the drivers
