help guys i just had a buddy stop by w/truck he just bought. its a 69 4x4 w/1992 motor and it seems the timing is off. it loses power when shifted into gear. isnt there some wire that has to be unplugged to set timing on these newer fi'd motors?

i believe there r black and tan wires on the back of the motor that has to do with advancing the timing on theses motors. to set the timing u have to unplug it so it doesnt keep adjusting as ur adjusting it. im not too good with the TBI motors but ive heard this from a couple of my friends with TBI knowledge.
