Looking at a 1991 K5 and curious what the typical highway mileage is for this beast. Need to know asap as I am contemplating purchasing it tomorrow.

Any input would be greatly appreciated....

If I'm just cruising around 65-70 mph I recon I get about 18 to 20 mpg. But 80 to 100+ mph and your looking at 8 to 12 maybe.

Mark, I'm assuming that's the imperial gallon your numbers refer to?

Average for a stock 91 seems to vary between 10 and 15 mpg (US gallon) depending on how and where it's driven.

Me thinks if your really worried about mileage, its probally not the right truck for you

I'll second that. When people ask what kind of mileage I get I tell them I do not know. I bought it 'cause I wanted it not cause I needed it. But, if I had to guess, on my '91 I was getting about 10 - 12 mpg with 35's and 3:73 gears.
