I need some help, I was changing out the rear power window switch on my wife's Jimmy and broke the tab off the plastic holder. GM does not make this part anymore, does anyone know where I can get an after market one??? She's not happy with me now.
I checked the part number from GM at the dealer, with GM parts Direct and also looked at LMC. No one seems to make them, but thanks for looking up the number.
Do you happen to have a part number? I actually called them today and got nowhere. After talking to the customer service person I felt like I had just talked to someone who did not know what they were talking about.
OK, I think I am misunderstood, I don't need the switch, I replaced that already. While taking out the switch, I broke the plastc holder that attaches to the dash. It has a plastic piece at the top and a screw at the bottom to hold it to the dash. Sorry, I guess I need to explain myself better, but thank you for taking the time to look up the switch information.
I need the same peice also and have had no luck finding it because my switch is good but I am missing the peice that it goes into on the dash. the whole in the dash is bigger then the switch.
I am new to the site, but in answer to this question, Eastwood makes a plastic repair kit that may help with broken plastic pieces. I personally have never tried it, but is something I have considered since many parts are hard to find and plastic easily breaks, especially when made brittle due to sun exposure.
TAP Plastics may be another place to consider. I had thought about at one time molding hard-to-find plastic parts and selling them on the side, but was hesitant because I didn't know if there would be enough demand to justify the cost.
