HELP!! Steering box question

I had to replace the steering box in my 1973 K5. I picked one up from O'Rieleys. Everything fits and I'm just finishing up getting all the bolts torqued down. I notice when I was getting the steering shaft back on the input shaft that something was different. The new steering box does not look like the one I pulled out. The new one has bare metal with 4 bolt holes, the old one had a polygon shaped plate on it. I'll attach pictures.

Did I miss something? Was I supposed to pull that plate off before I swapped the core? Is it just a different model? The last thing I want to do is start it up and have steering fluid all over my garage.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

That’s just a different design. The fittings and the arm are the only things you should have to do on the new box.
