Dear friends of CK5, my name is Leonardo Nacci and I live in Pisa (Tuscany - Italy), and you are a supporter!!!. I owned a 1979 K5 chevy Blazer V8 350, Th350 n.p. 203 full time, kit trail master 6" and 33" x12, 50 R15 tires. the blazer is perfect: it has G.M. 12 bolt rear axle and G.M. 10 bolt front axle, whith 3.73 gears. I wanted to ask certain questions, because in my country we chevy blazer owners are few and c 'is much ignorance about them: what' is the complete list of modifications to do on chevy blazer to install the tire 38’s"? someone here from us, 'he did, shortly after he broke the automatic ... thanks, you're fantastic. How to send photos of my chevy blazer?:bow::bow::bow::bow::bow::bow::bow::bow::bow::bow::bow::bow:

well i must say its nice to see some full size trucks over there!!!!
now if you have a 6 inch lift you could get the 38s to fit. you might need to trim some but thats up to you. if you dont want to trim you could do a small body lift. there are plenty of guys here running 38s on just 4 inchs of lift.

with that said, you can add your pictures to a site like photobucket and then post the link on here after 15 posts.

You might even consider an 8" lift if you don't want to do any trimming to the fenders.
you need 4.56 gears minimum for your axles or upgrade to stronger axles

you'll need to lengthen your driveshafts too

To post pics you need to link your photos to this page, use a program like webshots or photobucket and paste the links to your message. Good luck and let us see your rig!

Thank You Very Much

thanks friends, I am happy to have met you! in pisa here we are a group of friends who gather for American cars, and we are three owners of K5, two 350 gasoline and 1 6.2 diesel. our friend the owner of the 6.2 diesel 1982 k5 has installed a 8" lift kit and 35"x14,50 r 15 tires tsl Bogger, but after a few km to go he has broken the automatic transmission. we thought had been caused by the gear, too long, 3.73 differential on the original ... you know show me the correct number of gear to install 38 "tires? Thanks you very much, and sorry for my bad english..

For 38s to be driven on the street you need a 4.56s. More than likely you have a 700r4 transmission which has overdrive. That tranny will allow you to run lower gears and still make it streetable and
capable offroad.

There are 4.56 gears available for both the 10 bolt and 12 bolt differentials. Check out Randy's Ring and Pinion!

if you coulg get your hands on the 14 bolt and dana 60 that would be great! that way you dont break your 10 bolt. those might be few and far between though

have reason to be corrected. but in the small bolt 10, 4:56 to have the number of teeth smaller than a big 14 bolt or dana 60, and is weaker, I think ... thanks to 'valuable and apologize to the many questions ...

do you have pics of some of the cars in your group? I'm interested to see the american cars over there. I have many friends in italy. I'm Italian (trapani)
