I was in the process of swapping the steering wheel, and noticed the nut to remove the wheel was rounded off. So my next steep was replace the whole column. I swap the column, and put a new key switch (bought the good column off some stranger). After swapping this stuff I noticed the only way to get the truck started was tilting the wheel up and down then it would start. Sometimes the key switch is hard to turn some times its smooth. After a couple of weeks it took longer and longer to get started now it will not start. When I turn the key theres nothing like if theres no fire going to the starter also the fuel pump does not come on only sometimes. I check all the connections on the started the battery.

Have you checked the switch at the bottom of the column that the wires plug into?

Yes I used the one that came with the column I bought then the one on my old one and still the problem is there.

It seems the rod that go's from the key cylinder to the switch that all the wires plug into is getting in a bind causing it to turn hard at times.

Ok I figured out that the column has to be straight not up or down and it starts perfect. I guess the rod is binding up some how anyone know what I can do?

I don't know about the binding but sometimes the rod doesn't get pushed far enough, you can loosen the switch on the bottom of the column and slide it up toward the wheel then tighten it so it gets pushed far enough

Wow I kind of feel like a jack ass I just replaced the ignition switch and boom starts in every position.:D

Wow this **** just started happening again what the hell could be going on?
