HELP water pump removal

I am trying to replace a water pump on a 99 s10 blazer. I am having trouble getting the fan clutch nut to loosen up. I have the fan clutch wrench, but cant get any torgue on it. Anyone have any suggestions tricks they use?

I got a piece of flat steel stock, drilled two holes out where the bolts go into the water pump and notched around the main bolt. Unscrewed the two bolts and then bolted up the wrench. Then I was able to have enough opposing torque to loosen the main nut.

I'll try to find the tool I made to take a picture of it for you.
