Help with a 263 transfer case.

What I got is a 01 duramax with a xhd263 transfer case... long story short I needed a new case for it, but ended up with a hd 263 case.

The difference between the two is the input shaft, the xhd has 29 spline and the hd has 32...The output is also different but that is easy to deal with.
I need to swap input shafts from one the to other but I cant find a guide on how to take the input shaft out of a NP 263 tranfercase.

Anybody got a link they can post up!??

It has to be pulled all the way apart. Input comes through from inside out. Pretty simple once you get it apart and study it. Unfortunately. I don't have a link or guide for you.

How bad is the rest of your XHD? I may be interested in the core for parts if any are use-able.

I got it to the planetary now...I took the big snap ring out but I haven't been able to get it out yet. Not sure if I`m missing something to take out or its seized in the case.

The xhd is really toasty I didn't even see the snap ring for the planet for all the dry crud that was around it. Not to much good in there.

I just hope the input is still ok...seems to be. I just need to get it out.

How is it looking? 29 spline input going to be usable? I haven't found a loose XHD case for you yet but I am still looking this morning...

I got it Russell back together with the 29 spline input in it!
Fit perfect... all the same.
Just need a input seal ant t/c to trans gasket and a different yolks for the drive shaft. Should be good to go!

Same case as in your 99 Dave.
Have you done a case saver in yours....if your going to keep it you should.
