These axels came up for sale for a good price. Don't have my book handy and need to know for sure what front is. Not on site either so can't get numbers. Owner said rear is full floater. Any info would be great thanks.

Only other info is they both came from a mid eightys 3/4 ton chevy truck. Pretty sure rear is a 14 bolt. Thinking of these for my 73. Thanks.

14 bolt. Looks to have 3/4 ton mounts, with the bigger 13" brakes.

10 bolt front with 76 and older 8 lug hubs swapped on to it.

Rear looks like a 14BFF, can't tell if the 11" brakes or the 13". (I'm more used to the DRW axles.)

Front is your basic 8-lug 10-bolt.

This set is likely to have 4.10:1 gears, which might be good for you, but I'd expect to have to go through that front and replace, well, everything (including ball joints maybe) as it looks pretty beat (why did they torch the tierod??). And the shock mounts might need re-welding or replacement, they look bent.

Thanks a ton guys. Friend of a friend thing. Texted me the pics while gone for weekend.

Well now for the price. He wants $150.00 for both. Is it worth it, and how much stronger is the 10 bolt than the 44. In other words I am thinking of running 35 inch max tires and possible lockers. I know that is about the limits of my half ton gear.

That's a decent price for the 14 bolt alone, so for both, take it.

A 10 bolt and a Dana 44 are essentially equal in strength -- they both came on 1/2 and 3/4 ton trucks, the only difference being the outers, 6-lug vs 8-lug (slightly larger brakes on the latter.)

You would prolly want to swap the whole axle in to get the matched gear ratio as it's cheaper here to swap axles than to put new gears in your existing axle. You also then get 8-lug both ends.
