So i'm in the process of lifting my blazer, but cannot for the life of me get the original steering arm off. I've wacked the hell out of it with the hammer, tried heating it up with the torch, used the gorilla bar, its not budging. Help. Also i've got the 14 bolt sitting in the garage but the guy i got it from knows nothing about it. Is there anyway to tell if it is SF or FF just by looking at the outside of it or do i need to tear into it. Last question for now is will a locker in the front 10b work alright if i dont have manual hubs or am i just asking for something to break? Thanks for any help guys, Josh

For the steering arm try some kind of penetrant (PB Blaster, etc.) and a bigger hammer. They're tough, but it will come eventually.

As for the 14 bolt, this is what a FF 14 bolt hub looks like:

A locker in your 10 bolt doesn't mean you will/won't break stuff and manual hubs don't have anything to do with it. Your driving style and tire size will determine if you will break stuff or not.

hmmm....

For that job you'll need to buy/rent a steering arm puller. I'm fairly sure it wont budge without it.

Do a search on removing the arm, been covered. Penetrating oil, heat the thing, hit it with a hammer.

You DID remove the cone washers, right? ;)

14BFF has the hubs that come past the wheel; 14BSF doesn't. Also check out
