So my battery charge and gas gauge works but not oil pressure or temperature gauge. Cant seem to find the wiring diagram or trace this under the hood to the right spot. Can someone clue me in?

What do or don't they do?

Pegged one direction or the other? Do they move when the key is turned from off to run?

Temp sender is in the drivers side head, near the 1 and 3 cylinder exhaust ports, should be green wire. Oil pressure is tan(?) wire, runs to bell shaped sender normally located on drivers side of distributor.

Diagnosis is pretty simple. Ground each wire with key in run, gauge should peg one direction or other (can't recall which) and when the wire is ungrounded, gauge should peg opposite direction. If they don't, problem is not the sending unit(s).

For temp sensor, there will be a sending unit in one of the heads on the side.

Mine is driver side.

Oil pressure will have a sending unit in the block behind the distributor.

What do or don't they do?

Oil pressure does nothing iirc, temp pegs out to max even when cold started and cold hoses.

Can anyone send pictures of the end points for these under the hood, so I can start there and trace back?

Here is oil: http://www.delbridge.net/oilss.jpg

Having hard time finding temp sending unit picture as on motor, but it looks like this: http://www.autopartsdb.net/images/ProductImg//t/tu5.jpg and will be between the #1 and 3 cylinders.

Those are the typical/stock locations on a small block, but they can be moved, etc.

Fairly common for people to get the wrong piece when they ask for the temp sender, if there is a two connector unit in it's place, that is for an idiot light.

Thanks, would these be the same locations and parts if I'm on a diesel?

BTW Ive heard that various models had other factory gauges, what other ones are there besides battery, oil, temp, and gas? I have an empty slot, would like to see what my options are.

I'd defer to someone with a diesel, I know so little about the 6.2's I can't comment on locations for the sensors. I do know that at least some, if not all, diesel clusters use an 80PSI oil pressure gauge which requires a different sending unit.

It would be an oil pressure sending unit. Sensor is for a computer. This day and age saying sensor you most likely would end up with the wrong part.

I'd refrain from buying anything until you diagnose the problem, if thats where you were heading. The temp senders almost never go bad, and the oil pressure sending units do, but that is fairly uncommon as well. The wiring on the back of the instrument cluster, or PO's cutting wiring are far more common problems with these setups.
