I'm hoping that someone out there can help me 'decode' my engine block number. The original 305 was taken out and a 350 installed shortly before my buying it, and I'm trying to find out exactly how old it is. It has the Goodwrench 350 valve covers. I used silly puddy to figure out my block number... 10066038. There's a big 'GM' and something 'en mexico' above the number. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. -

Beefcake, where exactly did you look to find the number i have not been able to find mine.

On my 350, it's located at the driver's side rear of the block where the engine and tranny bellhousing meet. It's almost impossible to see from above, but if you lay under your rig and reach up where I described, you'll be able to feel them. I tried mirrors, and flashlights, but ended up using Silly Puddy to read them. I first wiped the area with a rag, and then pressed the stuff on them. It took a few times to get all of the numbers logged down, but worked great. If you go to the site that POWERMAD sent me on this post, it will help you out too. If you still have trouble, let me know. - G
